Coffee at Cafe Hey in Tampa

Lately, I have been into exploring coffee places about town. During a recent journey, I found myself at Cafe Hey in Tampa. Cafe Hey is located just off of Highway 275 at the intersection of Franklin and Kay street. Although the area surrounding the cafe doesn't catch the eye, inside the cafe one will find a small but cozy cafe with attractive art pieces lining its brick wall. There was a comfortable looking window seat, but unfortunately, it was already taken. The menu offered a nice selection of sandwiches and, as I understand, they offer a homemade soup daily. However, the day we stopped by, we were looking for coffee and a light snack. I loved my cafe con leche, which was made with skim milk and condensed milk, and the latte I tasted was good. The only thing I was disappointed about when drinking my coffee was that it was served in a Styrofoam cup. I like a big old ceramic cup for personal enjoyment, as well as, concerns about the environment. For snacks, everyone was happy with the hot pressed cuban bread with melted swiss cheese. And then, there was the brownie, which was absolutely fabulous. For brownie lovers, it was a dark chocolate decadence. Altogether, it was a stop worth making.
